It’s been over two years, but Pistol Annies–a group founded by Miranda Lambert–is still going strong.
The group began with a phone call at 2 a.m. On one end was Ashley Monroe and Miranda Lambert, the other was Angaleena Presley asleep next to her young son.
“And I went, ‘Hey, this better be important, by God,’“ Presley recalled. It turns out it was. After the three of them got together, they began working on music together, though a studio album was the farthest thing from their minds.
“I just happened to be the one that got successful,” Lambert said in a recent pollstar.com interview. “There’s a whole bunch of us that you haven’t heard yet.”

More details have been released about the May 14th wedding between country stars Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, who wed at the Don Strange Ranch just outside of San Antonio, Texas.
Both the bride and groom wore cowboy boots. Miranda paired them with the ivory wedding gown that her mother wore just 33 years earlier and Blake wore jeans and a gray jacket.
It also comes as no surprise that several of the guests in attendance are household names like Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, Martina McBride, Kelly Clarkson and Neal McCoy, who also performed at the reception.

Throughout 2010, Miranda Lambert was on top of the world with award after award for her latest album, Revolution. Now, she faces an even more daunting task: Continuing her success with her next album.
“I’ll probably be panicked the night before my new record comes out because I love Revolution still and I can’t even imagine starting on a new record,” Lambert said in a pollstar.com interview. “But I know I’ve got to and I know that I don’t need to compare myself to myself. I’ve just got to keep doing what I do and moving forward. But, yes, I’m so freakin’ nervous.”

In a move that shows that country music has “arrived” to the mainstream, the Grammy nominations have graced country cutie Miranda Lambert with four nods.
Lambert received nominations for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her single “The House That Built Me,” Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for “Bad Angel” with Jamey Johnson and Dierks Bentley, and Best Country Album for Revolution. “The House That Built Me” was also nominated for Song Of The Year, although the award goes to the songwriters and not Lambert.
“It feels good to be nominated for a Grammy at all, but three is so special,” Miranda gushed. “It’s such a prestigious awards show. It’s mattered so much in just all music, especially for country right now, because I think we’re finally out there. We’re finally where people are paying attention to country music, and we’re part of the world of music now. We’re not out by ourselves anymore.”

At last night’s 45th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, Miranda Lambert walked away with three awards, Video of the Year for “White Liar,” Album of the Year for “Revolution” and Top Female Vocalist of the Year!
Lambert also becomes the first solo female artist to win two Album of the Year Awards. She first was honored back in 2008 for her release, “Crazy Ex Girlfriend.”
Miranda was presented with the award at a surprise country radio event hosted by ACM, where she exclaimed, “It was a total surprise. I really wasn’t sure what I was coming to do. I was afraid I was going to have to talk in public. I can sing in public, but I can’t talk in public. Then they presented me with the award.”
Miranda is currently touring the US through the end of summer. For a complete list of dates and cities, visit mirandalambert.com. Miranda Lambert tickets are available now.
