The group began with a phone call at 2 a.m. On one end was Ashley Monroe and Miranda Lambert, the other was Angaleena Presley asleep next to her young son.

“And I went, ‘Hey, this better be important, by God,’“ Presley recalled. It turns out it was. After the three of them got together, they began working on music together, though a studio album was the farthest thing from their minds.

“I just happened to be the one that got successful,” Lambert said in a recent pollstar.com interview. “There’s a whole bunch of us that you haven’t heard yet.”

Lately, she’s been successful alongside the rest of Pistol Annies who just debuted their first album, Hell on Heels. The album bounces back and forth between the good and bad aspects of life, and how easy it is for the wrong decision to snowball into something bigger.

“It seems like when we all three got together, that’s what came out,” Monroe said in the same article. “We never thought about it, ever. … When we get together to write I guess that part just comes out. We know what it’s like to be struggling.”

Both the bride and groom wore cowboy boots. Miranda paired them with the ivory wedding gown that her mother wore just 33 years earlier and Blake wore jeans and a gray jacket.

It also comes as no surprise that several of the guests in attendance are household names like Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, Martina McBride, Kelly Clarkson and Neal McCoy, who also performed at the reception.

Sticking with the country theme, guests were served venison that was harvested by the couple. In addition to hunting, the couple also enjoys fishing.

“We’re a really normal couple,” Lambert said. “…We’re best friends, and I can’t see myself with anybody else.”

The honeymoon hasn’t lasted long, however, because both of them are back to performing. “I’ll probably be panicked the night before my new record comes out because I love Revolution still and I can’t even imagine starting on a new record,” Lambert said in a pollstar.com interview. “But I know I’ve got to and I know that I don’t need to compare myself to myself. I’ve just got to keep doing what I do and moving forward. But, yes, I’m so freakin’ nervous.”

Revolution, which debuted in September 2009, snagged three CMA Awards, three ACM Aards, two No. 1 hits on the Billboard charts and even went platinum. She also has the opportunity to snag more awards when the 2011 Grammy Award winners are announced. (She was nominated for five awards, including Best Country Album and Song of the Year).

Though she’s amassed tons of fame and success throughout the past 18 months, she hasn’t let it go to her head. In fact, she’s continuing her Revolution tour with Eric Church and Josh Kelley. The trio even played the night that the Grammy Award nominees were introduced (Dec. 1), and they continue to tour with upcoming stops in Loveland, Colo.; Prescott Vallet, Ariz.; Las Vegas, Nev.; and Temecula, Calif. through the end of the month. Lambert received nominations for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her single “The House That Built Me,” Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for “Bad Angel” with Jamey Johnson and Dierks Bentley, and Best Country Album for Revolution. “The House That Built Me” was also nominated for Song Of The Year, although the award goes to the songwriters and not Lambert.

“It feels good to be nominated for a Grammy at all, but three is so special,” Miranda gushed. “It’s such a prestigious awards show. It’s mattered so much in just all music, especially for country right now, because I think we’re finally out there. We’re finally where people are paying attention to country music, and we’re part of the world of music now. We’re not out by ourselves anymore.”

Her fellow country stars, and competition, Lady Antebellum, also snagged nominations in key categories for their work “Need You Now,” solidifying the foothold country music has in mainstream music.

Lambert is up against several of music’s heavy hitters in her respective categories, including rapper Eminem, Ray LaMontagne, Carrie Underwood, and LeAnn Rimes, to name a few.

She along with Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, the Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson will all be performing at the 44th Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 10.

Country’s biggest night will, once again, be hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.

With nine award nominations, the odds are in her favor that Lambert will be on the stage more than once. She’s been nominated for entertainer of the year, female vocalist of the year, album of the year, musical event of the year, single of the year, music video of the year and song of the year.

Of course, she’s also got some stiff competition. In the entertainer of the year category–arguably the most important category of the event–she’s joined by Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and the Zac Brown Band.

The CMA Awards Ceremony 2010 will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Nov. 10. Once again, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will host the show.

Currently, Miranda is getting ready for Nashville Rising, a benefit concert held by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to help aid victims of the record breaking rainfall that flooded parts of Tennessee earlier this spring.  The all star line up includes Billy Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, Montgomery Gentry, Amy Grant, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Taylor Swift and more!  The event is set for June 22nd at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Lambert also becomes the first solo female artist to win two Album of the Year Awards.  She first was honored back in 2008 for her release, “Crazy Ex Girlfriend.”

Miranda was presented with the award at a surprise country radio event hosted by ACM, where she exclaimed, “It was a total surprise.  I really wasn’t sure what I was coming to do. I was afraid I was going to have to talk in public.  I can sing in public, but I can’t talk in public.  Then they presented me with the award.”

The Lilith Fair was founded in 1996 by the award-winning Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan, and is still the only event on the festival circuit that features an all-female line-up almost exclusively.  Artists come from all musical genres and across generations, with this year’s roster including everyone from Heart and The Bangles to Jill Scott and Mary J.
